The car and the staff were great. The only problem was that costumers are supposed to have a credit card, which I don´t, so the pick up took more than 30 minutes and at the begining they could not assure me that I was going to take the car. Finally everything worked with my debit card.

My friend and I had an incredible experience renting from this location. We worked with Jersey, who was thorough about the details of our coverage and extremely helpful with tips on keeping updated on roadways and driving conditions in Iceland. **MAKE SURE you pay the extra charges for full coverage insurance in Iceland as the driving conditions and road can be very unpredictable at times. This covers absolutely everything except wind and sand damage (which is clearly stated in the beginning & the team gave us a website to check the wind forecast). We ended up needing the 24 hour roadside assistance and we provided the invoice and we were instantly refunded. The Keflavik Sixt team provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Thanks again, Jersey & team! We will definitely be using Sixt for all of our future trips to Iceland.

Easy rental, fast return, nice car (Jeep Compass PHEV). No problems and friendly staff. Advise 1: In Iceland you should ALWAYS include the best insurance. The cars will be damaged anyway. On our 1 week trip we had 2 new stones hitting the front window from cars passing us… So if you try to „safe“ money for insurance in Iceland, you definitely will not safe in the end. ;) Advise 2: Try to rent a PHEV and use Virta or ON app, then you charge it for ~15cents/kWh, that’s even with the 20kWh/100km on the Jeep ~3€ vs. 8 liter x 2,30€ = ~18€ Most Hotels and many sightseeing points have Typ2 chargers, some are even free.

Sixt was great! It was our first time in Iceland and the weather is CRAZY. Like, next level crazy. When we checked in, the Sixt employee who helped us walked us through general restrictions in the country (parking, etc) and also helped us figure out which roads were open/closed and how best to get to our hotel outside of Reykjavik. The car was clean, exactly as we had ordered, and great for all the conditions we drove in (snow, sleet, slush, hail, extreme wind gusts, sand, and fog). At the end of our trip, the very helpful Grzegorz made return a breeze. He actually drove us to the front door of the airport (about a 3 minute trip from the rental station) so we didn’t have to wait for a shuttle or stand in the cold. Incredible service! Grzegorz was also very knowledgeable and helpful - we will absolutely rent from Sixt the next time we are in Iceland.
