General Rental Information

Important documents

The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driver's license and a valid Civil ID or Resident permit. Accepted types of licenses are Saudi Arabian, GCC, American, Canadian, New Zealand, Australian, EU (with latin alphabet) or International.

Driving license printed with non Roman Alphabet (Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an International driving license.

Please show a valid driver's license and ID card/ passport at time of pick up!

Photocopies, digital licenses, Learner's Permits, and driver's licenses with driving restrictions will not be accepted.

Age Restrictions

Minimum age in Saudi Arabia is 21 years.

Tariff information

General

The following credit cards are accepted: all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron). The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card.

Sixt CarExpress Servicecard (Advantage Circle) is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.

Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.

An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

Special rental information when booking Prepaid rates

Prepaid tariff - Pay now

When booking at a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged along with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.

Changing booking

Changing Booking
A prepaid booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (depending on availability) in return for a booking modification fee of 115,00 SAR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this modification leads to a lesser rental cost. Any changes made to a prepaid reservation may impact the rental rate. A change from a prepaid rate to a non-prepaid rate is not possible.

Cancellation

A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge (including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. No-show

In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

Protection conditions

Third Party Insurance (TI)

Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 1,0 mil EUR for personal injuries and material damages. Maximum cover for personal injuries is 1,0 mil EUR per injured person.

Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

All rates are inclusive of CDW.

Customer is only responsible for the following amounts:

Theft Protection (TP)

All rates are inclusive of TP.

Super Top Cover CDW (GF)

The renter can choose Super Top Cover CDW to eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.

If Super Top Cover CDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amount: 0.- SAR

Top Cover TP (H)

The renter can choose Top Cover TP to eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.

If Top Cover TP is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amount: 0.- SAR

Personal Accident Protection (PAP)

By taking out personal accident protection coverage can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.

Personal Accident Protection provides cover against the consequences of an accident for drivers and passengers up to the seating capacity of the vehicle that is mentioned by the manufacturer.

By taking out PAP the limit of liability is: 0.00 SAR for invalidity, 100,000.00 SAR for decease, 5,000.00 SAR per person for medical costs.

Tyre and Windscreen Coverage (TG)

The tire and glass coverage provides protection for damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and the rear window with a deductible of SAR 0.00.

If the protection is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full extent of the damage.

Roadside protection (BC)

The roadside protection is an extended breakdown protection during the rental and protects against high service and repair costs for the following incidents caused by you: key locked in vehicle, breaking caused by lack of fuel, assistance with starting necessitated by flat battery, loss of key and vehicle stuck.
Exclusions: Cost of fuel, battery, keys and tires themselves are not included.

All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with Sixt 24-hour Roadside Assistance. They shall also determine the type and extent of service required to ensure the renter stays mobile. If any damage to the rental vehicle occurs which is not covered by Sixt within the scope of the Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage.

Roadside protection is provided 24/7 (365 days).

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions

Cross Border Rentals are only allowed to the following countries for residents of Saudi Arabia:
Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Jordan.

A written permission issued by the Sixt branch is mandatory to cross the border.

It takes up to 24 hours to obtain the Cross Border Travel Permit with a charge as follows:

Bahrain: 131.25 SAR
Quatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates: 210.00 SAR
All other GCC Countries: 525.00 SAR
Jordan: 630.00 SAR

The following cars/buses are not permitted to cross borders: SPAR. SQAR & SVAR. Therefore, a permit cannot be issued to customers renting these vehicles.

In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all protections lose their validity.

Premium Location Fee

A premium location fee occurs for rentals at airport and train stations.

Extras

Accessories are bookable without obligation and subject to availability.

One-Way Rentals

One-way-rentals within Saudi Arabia are allowed under conditions depending on tarif.

International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.

In the case of unannounced and unauthorised one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.

Navigation system

Navigation systems are available subject to a fee.

Additional Driver

A charge is levied for the additional driver, whose details are noted in the lease only if the additional driver presents a valid driver's license.

Baby and child seats

Baby seats and child seats are available subject to a fee.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available subject to a fee.

Driver Service

By choosing the driver service a Sixt driver will be supplied for 8 consecutive hours per day in the business hours. Additional hours and services outside business hours are available at the local branch. The customer remains liable for the condition of the vehicle except when the vehicle is physically moved by the Sixt driver.

In the event that Personal Accident Protection (PAP) is not included in the price, it is mandatory to book it.

Driver services are available within respective city limits and any trip outside the city limits will need to be coordinated with the Sixt location in advance. Additional charges for leaving the citylimits may arise and will be charged extra locally. Please contact the local branch for more information.

Vehicle refueling

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise the current prices per litre of petrol or diesel will be charged in addition to a refuelling fee.

Delivery & Collection

Delivery/Collection Service within city limits of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and King Kahled, King Abdulaziz and King Fahad International Airports is free of charge.

The renter is obliged to report the vehicle back to SIXT at the end of the rental period.

Other charges and taxes

Administration Fee For Fines and Fees

If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee together with the first settlement-proposition.

The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occuring during the rental.

Out Of Hours

Out of opening hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional charge applies for the provision of the service.

All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs).
For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.
